My Time Tracker

We just published a small update to My Time Tracker that fixes a couple of bugs, and allows a user to choose the starting date of the week.

I'm currently working on a few more features for it, including adding notes/expenses to an activity or entry, being able to add hours to an activity without specifying specific times, and displaying times in various formats.  Stayed tuned for updates!

New contract

If my users haven't noticed, my development cycles have slowed down considerably due to the fact I've started a new contract that is taking up most of my time.  I am still working on my Android applications, and will still publish bug fixes quickly.  I have a major update to My Note Taker that adds quite a few features including more ways to take notes, plus more categories and searching capabilities.  I am just finishing up testing the upgrade steps so that the new version won't lose any of your existing notes.  I'm also debating starting it as a new application as it is very different, or as just an upgrade.  Keep tuned to find out.

My Time Tracker

My Time Tracker was just published on the Android Market.  It allows you to use your phone to track your time at things like work hours, or you customize to track things like the amount of time spent exercising, or even how long your baby sleeps through the day or night.  Basically, anything you can think of that you want to track how much time you spend doing something or how long something takes, it can handle it.

It has daily, weekly, and monthy reports showing the accumulated time, and an option to track estimated earnings or expenditures (depending on your use!), and you can email these reports to yourself or others if need be.  Add a few colour schemes, timers to automatically track time as well as a data entry screen, and it should do what you need.

Enjoy...

My Note Taker Update

My Note Taker has been downloaded over 2100 times since Christmas and has had 25,000 ad requests as of today, indicating that it's actively being used.  The ad requests are the best indication of how actively people are using the application, and with almost 3500 requests yesterday alone, an indication of the growth curve.

Version 1.2 was just released a few days ago which fixed two odd "Force Close" issues.  One was regarding dates where if the note did not have a valid creation date assigned to it, it would force close when viewing the note details.  I'm still not exactly sure what circumstances could cause a date not to be added, but if it's not, then the details will display an "Unknown" or "Empty" message instead.  The second issue was regarding the media player and being in an invalid state, incorrectly reporting it as a recorder issue.  This only affected two users, but refactoring the code and initialing the media player in a certain way appears to have solved the issue.

Overall, for being such a common application, it has been a successful release and done well.  It will also serve as a complement for other applications coming soon.

Speaking of which, My Time Tracker is almost complete now and should be released shortly.
